In the State, the amount of subsidy being provided to beneficiaries under housing schemes is very low. Due to the increase in the cost of construction materials and wages of laborers, is there any proposal to increase the subsidy provided to beneficiaries of housing schemes to ₹5.00 lakh?

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) is being implemented in convergence with State Government schemes such as the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Nivas Scheme (Urban) and the Vajpayee Urban Housing Scheme. Including the Central Government contribution, an amount of ₹3.50 lakh is being provided to beneficiaries belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, and ₹2.70 lakh to beneficiaries of other categories.
At present, the proposal to increase the subsidy amount being provided under various housing schemes is under examination.
