As several UN resolutions asking to end the genocide and invasion in Palestine by the Zionists remain just on paper, the report of a UN rapporteur urging suspension of the Zionist nation’s UN membership on account of repeated violations of International Law and the occupation of Palestine territories is also likely to meet with the same fate of the earlier resolutions, as long as the dominance of the US, the key energiser of the Zionists, on the UN remains strong.
It’s a good sign that the UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese has recommended to the General Assembly to consider the suspension of Israel’s credential as a member of the UN until it ends violating international laws and withdraws the occupation, which she said is “clearly unlawful.” Albanese said Israel has no right to be in the occupied Palestinian territory.
Her unambiguous observations and remarks such as “I do believe that the impunity that has been granted to Israel has allowed it to become a serial violator of international law.” “the creation of the Israeli state “came at a huge price for the Palestinians” and it has never been addressed; and since 1967, Palestinians have been increasingly segregated and repressed,” etc. should cause to open the blind eyes of those powers behind the Zionist invaders.
“The International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to withdraw, unconditionally, totally, rapidly as possible its military presence, dismantling the colonies, stopping the seizing the exploitation of natural resources on the occupied Palestinian territory and also making reparations,” Albanese added.
These recommendations of the rapporteur assume much significance as the Zionists continue their inhuman brutalities against the Palestinians. Of late, they have banned activities of the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in the occupied Palestinian territories. UNICEF denouncing the ban stated that “with the children of Gaza already facing one of the gravest humanitarian crises in recent history, if fully implemented, this decision will be deadly.”
As long as the UN is not empowered to enforce its decisions and resolutions on its members who violate international law, commit massacres and invade others’ lands, defiance of the rogue nation will continue with the full support of the powerful UN members.
