I am honoured to welcome the President and First Lady of the Maldives to Bengaluru. It is delightful to note that the First Lady was a student in this city.

The Maldives Government’s interest in partnering with Bengaluru’s leading IT sector is encouraging, and as the Silicon Valley of India, we are eager to support the growth of IT in the Maldives.

We also look forward to enhancing trade ties by promoting Karnataka’s renowned handicrafts and handlooms to the many tourists visiting the Maldives. With our rich cultural heritage, diverse natural beauty, and nearly 300 km of coastline, Karnataka is a land of harmony, as described by poet Kuvempu: “Sarva Janangada Shantiya Thota” – a garden of peace for all communities.

We seek to strengthen educational and cultural exchanges between Karnataka and the Maldives, fostering collaboration and growth.
