*Mangalore University celebrated its 43rd Foundation Day on Thursday*

Mangalore: By the end of the year, statues of Dr. BR Ambedkar and Swami Vivekananda will be unveiled in Mangalore University campus. The cultural policy of the university will be implemented soon, Announced Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya.

Delivering his presidential remarks at the 43rd Foundation day of the university here on Thursday, he said that the “Tree Park” project will be implemented and land will marked for the office of Mangala Alumni Association soon. “Despite challenges, we have implemented the new National Education Policy successfully. The much awaited mid day meal has been started. “Shaheed Sthal, creation of ‘Vathsalva Nidhi’, being honoured for the second time in a row as “Clean and Grease Campus” and starting 5 PG courses in Belapu are proud things,” he said.

International HR Trainer Dr. Bharat Chandra, in his special lecture, said that working hard, efficient use of time, sharp work, and hunger for achievement help us for an achievement. “Our success starts from our mind. If there is a habit of laziness, inferiority complex and making excuses, we will not be able to move forward,” he said.

Legislative Council Member SL Bhoje Gowda said that political interference in the formation of textbooks is unfortunate. Education and health are basic rights of all of us, but both are expensive now. “On this occasion, we should remember Narayan Guru who fought against exploitation and advocated education. We need life lessons now. Universities should become research centres, they should introspect on quality education in real sense,” he said.

At the same time, the Vice Chancellor said that there is a plan to bring out the life and achievements of 28 honoured achievers in the form of a book through Prasaranga.

Mangalore University Registrar Dr. Kishore Kumar CK, Registrar (Examination) Prof. PL Dharma, Finance Minister Dr. Jayappa, etc. were present. Program Coordinator Prof. Manjunath Pattabhi proposed the vote of thanks. Senior Professors Dr. Dhananjaya Kumble and Dr. Preethi Keerthi D’Souza mastered the ceremony. “Dance Sinchana” program was held by artists from Nritya Niketan, Kodavur, Udupi.
