The three-day ‘Beary Mela’, organized by Beary Chamber of Commerce and Industry was inaugurated by Home minister M B Patil here at Town Hall on Friday, February 8.
Speaking after the inauguration Mr Patil said, “We have witnessed communal clashes in our society due to one percent of the people, while remaining 99 percent people prefer to live in peace and harmony. We need to find such miscreants and punish them to make our society a peaceful one.”
“Miscreants do not belong to any one particular religion. In every community there are few people who destroy communal peace in the society. Present coalition government will deal with those anti-social elements that incite violence in society. We will always support and join hands in maintaining peace and harmony in the society,” he assured. Mr Patil also promised of setting up a fire station at Mudipu and that concrete measures will be taken at the earliest in this regard, he said.
The aim of the Mela is to create awareness on Beary culture and their contribution to business and to promote entrepreneurship. Many stalls for business and also food courts have been set up here. The Mela will also hold seminars, networking and cultural programmes.
